buyers; and (iii) service providers. The power sellers include power generation facilities and entities setting prices and selling power on behalf of
power generation units. The power buyers include five electricity corporations, large power consumers, and eligible power buyers. An overview of
participants in the competitive wholesale market is depicted in Fig. 11.2.
The power market has been transforming from a monopoly market into
a competitive market. Presently, the power market has become competitive at the stage of power generation (competitive generation market) and
at the stage of the wholesale market.
