Please pay attention that there are some discrepancies in March 22 and 23 figures
for Italy shown in the beginning of this chapter.
The mortality rates (shown in Table 3.1) were calculated as of March 14, 2020
(see [1]). It can be seen that the figures vary very significantly from country to
country. The mortality rate values also changed greatly over time. Fortunately,
world averages tend to decline. For example, as of March 14, 2020, this figure was
3.5%, and in September 2020 it was about 3%, [1]. In this book, we will not focus
on the differences in mortalities and their time dependences.
