6.1 Introduction
While the world is transitioning to a low-carbon economy, many
countries in Africa are still reliant on traditional energy such as solid
biomass (Nalule, 2018). Goal 7 of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable
Development Goals emphasizes access to modern energy for all.
However, many people in sub-Saharan Africa remain without access to
