I want to thank all the colleagues which helped me to follow the chemistry pathway
of the symmetry rules and appear as coauthors in most of the cited publications—
first of all, my Ph.D. supervisor, the late Professor Franco Cariati, pioneer of the
crystal field studies, and then the researchers of my group of the University of
Milano-Bicocca Roberto Scotti, Massimiliano D’Arienzo and Barbara Di Credico,
