4 Notes
1. Ethidium bromide in solution can be purchased commercially.
2. To facilitate better solubility, adjust pH to 8.0 with NaOH.
3. The gel loading buffer can also be prepared by adding 25 mg
bromophenol blue and 4 g sucrose; or 25 mg bromophenol
blue, 25 mg xylene cyanol, and 3 mL glycerol in 10 mL H 2 O.
4. Other buffers such a Tris-borate-EDTA (TBE) can also be used
as effectively if available in your laboratory.
