With this panorama it seems clear that modern astronomy is now well
established in Spain. It is unimportant where its centre of gravity is located at
any given time or what its flagship might be. In cycling marathons those in
the lead are relieved by others, and in migrating flocks of birds, different
members of the flock occupy the apex. What is important is that we all pedal,
or fly, together with spirit and enthusiasm for the common good of science.
