About the Authors
Maciej Chotkowski is Assistant Professor at the Faculty
of Chemistry of the University of Warsaw (UW), Poland.
Following chemistry studies at UW he worked for his Ph.D.,
which was granted in 2008. In 2019 he acquired the title
of a habilitated doctor (doctor habilitowany). In 2004–2012
he worked in the Industrial Chemistry Research Institute,
Poland. He is a specialist in application of electrochemical and
spectroelectrochemical methods in investigations of the redox
behavior of technetium, manganese and rhenium compounds.
He has published research papers concerning mainly the fundamental properties of inorganic ionic species of technetium and
manganese in aqueous media. He has participated in research
projects in nuclear chemistry focused on industry and medicine
and he was a member of steering or advisory committees of
scientific conferences, e.g. of the 3rd Academic Symposium on
Nuclear Fuel Cycle (2015 Japan), and the 10th International
Symposium on Technetium and Rhenium. Science and Utilization (2018 Russia). He teaches a large variety of regular courses
and laboratories at UW dealing with physical and nuclear
chemistry. He is also very active in introducing innovative
concepts of teaching and adaptation of chemical experiments to
the needs of visually disabled students.
