objective functions: the operational and retrofitting cost of built CSs, the construction
cost of newly built pipelines, the construction and operation cost of newly built CSs.
A case based on data from a gas field in China is studied to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results show that this method can provide a reconstruction scheme of gathering pipeline network that performed better than the original
system. There is a 3.68% decrease in the total costs compared to the design scheme
without modification of the original CSs. The proposed method can be used as a tool
for decision support of the gas field pipeline design optimization in the mid to late
development stages.
