Full-Scale Forced Vibration Tests of a Railway Bridge
225
Fig. 1. View of the bridge during passage of an X62 train.
The bridge is designed as a continuous three-span concrete slab bridge, the outer
spans are 13 m and the mid-span 17 m. The columns are rigidly connected to the bridge
deck and the end supports consists of sliding bearings.
An important feature of this bridge that the end-supports are integrated in the embankment and that the retaining walls are integrated in the bridge deck. The over-sail from
the end support to the retaining wall is 1.5 m. The integral structure will result in partial restraint of the bridge deck and potentially additional damping due to dynamic
soil-structure interaction.
2 Experimental Testing
The experimental campaign was performed in June 2020. A total of 22 uni-axial
accelerometers from PCB were installed on the edge beams, illustrated in Fig. 2. The
sensors on the over-sail (a 1 , a 11 , a 21 , a 22 ) and the supports (a 23 to a 26 ) has a sensitivity
of 10 V/g, the remaining sensors 1 V/g. the actuator system is installed 7.2 m from the
right end-support.
