of partial confinement. Clearly, such a danger cannot be excluded in certain
food areas
(2) Oxidizing agents: substances and preparations which, in contact with other
substances, in particular flammable compounds, exhibit a strongly exothermic
reaction
(3) Extremely flammable agents: liquid substances and preparations with
extremely low flash point and low boiling point, as well as gaseous substances
and preparations which, at ambient temperature and pressure, are flammable
in air
(4) Highly flammable substances and preparations which:
(4.1) May be heated to the point of igniting in air at room temperature without
the addition of energy
(4.2) May be easily ignited in the solid state by a brief action of an ignition
source and continue to burn or burn after the source has been removed
(4.3) Show very low flash point in the liquid state
(4.4) Or, in contact with water or humid air, produce extremely flammable
gases in dangerous quantities
(5) Flammable compounds: liquid substances and preparations with a low flash
point
(6) Very toxic agents: substances and preparations which, by inhalation, ingestion,
or skin penetration in very small quantities, cause death or cause acute or
chronic health damage
(7) Toxic substances and substances which, by inhalation, ingestion, or skin
penetration in small quantities, cause death or harm to health acutely or
chronically
(8) Harmful agents: substances and preparations which, by inhalation, ingestion,
or cutaneous penetration, can cause death or harm health acutely or chronically
(9) Corrosive substances and preparations which, in contact with living tissue, can
exert a destructive action on the latter
(10) Irritant agents: non-corrosive substances and preparations which, through
immediate, prolonged, or repeated contact with the skin or mucous membranes,
can cause an inflammatory reaction
(11) Sensitizers: substances and preparations which, by inhalation or skin penetration, may give rise to a hyper-sensitization reaction such that subsequent
exposure to the substance or preparation produces characteristic harmful
effects
(12) Carcinogens: substances and preparations which, by inhalation, ingestion, or
skin penetration, can cause cancer or increase its frequency:
(12.1) Category 1 carcinogens: substances and preparations known to be
carcinogenic to humans
(12.2) Category 2 carcinogens: substances and preparations for which there
is a strong presumption that human exposure to such substances and
preparations may cause cancer or increase its frequency
