3 Subsonic Wind Tunnels
Another wind tunnel worth mentioning is the S620 of ISAE-ENSMA. The test
section has a cross section of 2.6 × 2.4 m
2 and a length of 6 m. The velocity range
is from 5 to 60 m/s with turbulence intensity less than 0.5% (see Fig. 3.22).
Dedicated test setups (see Fig. 3.23) allow a wide range of tests for aeronautics
(aircraft or wing profile in dynamic stall situation), land transport (model equipped
with rotating wheels) and renewable energies (tidal or wind turbines). The wind
