dimensions that can accommodate various cell
Technologies, Inc., U.S.
numbers is created by laser welding jelly roll ES in
aluminum housing on one side and having a collector
plate on other side. Customizable enclosures using
tongue-and-groove connectors create slidable
interference joint. Cylindrical cells of jelly roll design
are connected by bus bars within housing.

Energy storage device composed of one or more cells.
Lang, Joel/Cellergy
Cell is defined by a pair of electrodes around a
Ltd., Israel
separator. Each cell is bounded by two current
collectors. Each electrode is printed on the face of one
of the two current collectors and the peripheral region
where the second electrode is printed on is sealed.

between inner barrier layer and terminals; outer
barrier plastic layer is bonded to metal layer and inner
barrier layer.
Table 5.5 lists specific Department of Energy-funded patents with the highest
number of citations for this technology[24].
5.9 Major Commercial ES Products
Development of and demands for supercapacitors arose from the heightened
awareness of alternative energies and a conservative outlook on energy efficiency. Both factors helped reduce costs of these devices to ~99% per farad.
