After adding components, they need to be interconnected. Components are
connected using the Connection Line Tool
on the Model Center toolbar,
Fig. 2.64.
Since we want to use this model as a component for use in other more complex
models, we need to add the appropriate connectors to connect the model with other
components.
The resulting model is presented in Fig. 2.65.
As parameters, we will declare the dimension r of the BodyBox body r (length,
width, height), as well as the damping coefficient d (Fig. 2.66).
Create an icon for this component. Switch to Icon View mode. and draw an icon
using the Graphic Tools toolbar.
Note that connectors created using the Connection Line Tool were automatically
added to the icon. Denote the chain link with an ellipse. To change the properties of
the ellipse, double-click on the ellipse object, or select the ellipse with the mouse and
press the Enter (Return) key. Use the Text Tool to specify the name of the component
by adding a text element with the text “% name”. To add a display of any available
parameters, you must enter “%” followed by the name of the parameter, Fig. 2.67.
When the link component is at our disposal, the model of the articulated pendulum
can be represented as a junction of four links interconnected and attached to the
