Appendix: Packages
The package class—a package (class library)—can only contain definitions of
classes and constants and serves to implement the principle of encapsulation.
To combine description elements into groups (that is, class libraries), use packages
that are specified by the package class. Packages in Modelica can contain definitions
of constants and classes, including all kinds of specialized classes, functions, and
subpackages. The term “podpaket” understands that the package is declared inside
the other, without implying inheritance relations. Parameters and variables cannot
be declared in a package. Definitions in a package usually have to be logically related
in some way, which is the main reason for placing them in a package. Packages are
useful for several reasons.
