According to Abou El-Magd and Ali (2012), the rate of evaporation from the HAD
reservoir is about 4.45 mm/day, about 11.1 BCM per year at the maximum water
level and surface area of the reservoir. This is in line with Fig. 8 for calculating the
evaporation and seepage losses from the HAD Reservoir, assuming seepage losses
of about 2 BCM/year at the maximum water level. Assumptions for evaporation and
seepage losses from the HAD reservoir are shown in Fig. 9.
