Whether the buildings A, B, C and D are individual flats, medium-rise or high rise
buildings will affect the sizes of the pipes used.
Consider, for a moment, the buildings A 1 , A 2 , A 3 , A 4 on Fig. 3.8. If they can be
grouped on top of each other, they can form the group of buildings A shown on
Figs. 3.7 or 3.9.
Figure 3.7 also shows that buildings G, H, E 1 , and F 1 , are fed through two lines
installed on different sides of the same road, so as to minimise disturbance to road
users and customers during repairs and maintenance works.
