This is the partial relation of the PROMETHEE I. This offers a matrix for the
decision-maker on which certain actions are equal and some are not. This knowledge
can be used fruitfully for decision taking in practical applications.
6.3 PROMETHEE 2
Suppose the decision-maker needs to propose the total preorder (complete listing
without incomparabilities). We can then consider the net-flow
net
(a t ) for each
alternative a t ∈ A applying to following Formula:
net
(a t ) =
+
(a t ) −
+
(a t )

In comparison to other MCDM methods, PROMETHEE is a successfully used
approach. The advantages of PROMETHEE include that it is a user-friendly method
that can be perfectly applied to real-life problem structures. Both PROMETHEE I and
II as whole enable the ranking of the alternatives respectively, while still providing
simplicity (Ozsahin 2019).
The PROMETHEE II method arranges objects from the best (more precisely,
from the most preferred) to the worst (to the least preferred). To do this, the net flows
are calculated for each alternative and then ordered in descending order. The higher
net is the better alternative (Ozsahin et al. 2019). And based on the net flow values
the order of the selection problem can be obtained perfectly.
