The low nutrient conditions in peat soil hinder plant growth. Since the water is
maintained at a high level, nutrient application in the form of fertilizer should be
applied to the land surface to trigger the functions of aerial and mound roots. Such
fertilizers include N, P, K, Mg, and B (in briquette form; oil palm special grade slowrelease fertilizer), biochar, zeolite, K
+ (K 2 O 30%; in granule form) plant biomass
compost, liquid organic biofertilizer, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), and
ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi. All materials are mixed into non-plastic bags called
