Chapter 4
Geothermal Energy
Abstract The geothermal energy is abundant everywhere in the world which can
be the alternative source of energy once it is implemented by houses and buildings
in situ in order to console the global energy and environmental vulnerability.
Therefore, in this research, the application of geothermal energy production and
consumption technology has been proposed in situ by the process of geothermal
energy pumping from Earth Magna and conversion of it into electricity energy by
heat exchanger by implementing advanced design technology for houses and buildings. Simply, production and application of geothermal energy in situ by the houses
and buildings itself would be an interesting technology since the high-temperature
resources (>150 °C) of Earth Magna provide baseload generating excellent capacity
of geothermal energy while lower temperature resources of Earth Magna also provide energy significantly. Besides, the application of in situ geothermal energy will
not only be the self-generating energy source for houses and buildings but also have
a number of positive characteristics of simplicity, safety, and capability of providing
continuous baseload energy flow with negligible emissions of CO 2 , SO 2 , and NO 2 ,
and thus this innovative technology will play a vital role in mitigating global environmental vulnerability.

Introduction
Global environmental crisis became severe since 1900s due to the perceived risk by
releasing billion tons of greenhouse gas emission of CO 2 into the atmosphere every
year from houses and building sectors due to the consumption of traditional energy
supplies [1, 2]. It has been calculated that nearly 40% of CO 2 gas emissions in the
year of 2019 are triggered by the house’s and building’s utilization of fossil fuel
energy [3–5]. The estimate shows that global CO 2 releases by burning fossil energy
