Comparative Resistance of Organic Linings
Following is aseries of tables comparing the corrosionresistance of various
organic liningmaterials in contact with commonly used corrodents.
The chemicals listed are in the pure state or in asaturated solution unless
otherwise indicated. Compatibility is shown to the maximum allowable
temperature for which data is available. An “X” shows incompatibility.A
blank spacei ndicates that data is unavailable.
One must keep in mind that most of the lining materials listed are capable
of being formulated to meet specific conditions. In the tables, when alining
material is listed as satisfactory,i tm eans that at least one formulation is
acceptable.T herefore, before being usedt he manufacturer should be
contacted to be sure that his formulation willb ec ompatiblew ith the
application. More extensive listings willb ef ound in Reference [1].
