Households were classified into four income
groups, which were defined on the basis of observed
sample income values:
1. A low-income household has a monthly income
no greater than INR 10,000.
2. A middle-income household has a monthly
income of INR 10,000–25,000.
3. A high-income household has a monthly income
of INR 25,000–50,000.
