considering environmental and economic perspectives. In this model, the economic
profit of Japanese and Chinese companies is 237 million USD per unit. Also,
Japanese and Chinese companies receive a total of 215 million USD in environmental benefits annually. India has a total annual economic benefit of 633 million USD
and environmental benefits of 13.391 million USD. Adopting a model of cooperation, Chinese and Indian companies can make a profit, and Japanese companies can
increase their economic profit by 122 million USD per unit.
The cooperation case study with India in the field of energy and environment
shows excellent potential for constructing an international, regional low-carbon
society, an Asian low-carbon community.
In Southeast Asian, South Asian, and Central Asian countries, annual energy
consumption and carbon dioxide emissions could be reduced by 60–70% if countries
could match the energy consumption per GDP and carbon dioxide emission per GDP
of Japan. India has low energy efficiency and has the most significant reduction
potential. In this case, if Japan and China make full use of each other’s advantages to
promote trilateral market cooperation, all three countries benefit. Cooperation can
contribute to achieving the SDGs. We propose a “market principle + sharing of
economic and environmental benefits + risk-sharing” method as a trilateral market
cooperation method. The characteristics of this method are consistent with the
community spirit of sharing benefits and risks.
