(2) Classification of pollution prevention and control of vadose zone
① Pollution control performance indicator and scoring of vadose zone
The geological type of the hazardous waste landfill site is bedrock fissure zone, and
the pollution control performance of the vadose zone is weak, with a score of 0.
② Vulnerability indicator and scoring of vadose zone
The geological type of the hazardous waste landfill site is bedrock fissure zone,
which does not meet the indicators in the source intensity evaluation method, and
the vulnerability of bedrock fissure zone is very high, and therefore the score is
assigned to be 0.
The pollution control performance of the vadose zone is weak and the comprehensive evaluation of classification is not considered.
(3) Evaluation of groundwater pollution source intensity classification
According to the above classification results, the hazard level of pollution source
intensity is Level II, and the pollution prevention and control of the vadose zone is
Level III according to experiences, and therefore the evaluation results of the source
intensity classification of groundwater pollution of the hazardous waste landfill site
is Level III.
7. Conclusions
(1) In this study, Beijing Centralized Hazardous Waste Disposal Center is selected
as the typical site. The site is a comprehensive centralized disposal center
integrating storage, physico-chemical treatment, incineration, landfill and
comprehensive utilization of resources, with an annual capacity of 57,000 tons
of various hazardous wastes. The main systems include collection and transportation system, comprehensive utilization system (including waste oil
recovery system, waste organic solvent recovery system, waste battery recovery), physico-chemical treatment (stabilization) system, incineration treatment
system, solidification treatment system (classified storage and pretreatment),
landfill, water supply and drainage system and sewage treatment plant, as well
as monitoring system, analysis and testing and other supporting facilities. The
typical site was completed in December 2008, put into trial run in early 2009
and put into operation in early 2010.
(2) The security landfill site adopts the reinforced concrete structure, and its pit
wall is provided with buttresses. The concrete at the bottom and on the wall of
the pit shall be impermeable concrete added with waterproof agent, and the
inner wall shall be coated with waterproof paint. In order to prevent rainwater
from entering, the landfill pit is covered with a movable gantry steel pipe rack
awning, without leachate discharge. The landfill waste is mainly divided into
four parts, including residual ash from the incineration system of disposal
center; residue generated by all systems of the disposal center; residual ash
from the Beijing Medical Waste Incineration and Disposal Plant; waste directly
