conditions for the occurrence of earthquakes of magnitude 6 or more, and no active
faults pass through the site.
The joint fractures developed in the bedrock weathering crust are a reflection of
the secondary structure. There is no sign of new structural activity in the site, and
the site is a relatively stable area of a comparatively stable block.
④ Groundwater type and water-bearing formation
According to the different occurrence media and burial conditions of groundwater,
the groundwater in this area is mainly divided into three types: loose rock pore
water, weathered eluvial pore-fissure water and bedrock fissure water. Bedrock
fissure water can be subdivided into three subcategories according to rock formations: massive volcanic rock fissure water, layered volcanic rock fissure water and
massive intrusive rock fissure water.
The loose rock pore water-bearing formations are mainly distributed in the basin
of A city in a province in the Southeast China in the south part of the working area
and the Huzhong Village at the outlet of a creek, etc. Due to the different causes and
burial conditions, the water abundance is also different, and the water quantity
varies from rich to poor. Weathered eluvial pore fissure water-bearing formations
has the smallest distribution area, and are mainly distributed in piedmonts and
monadnocks, which are mostly water-deficient areas. The bedrock fissure
water-bearing formations have a wide distribution area, and are mostly distributed
in water-deficient areas, but its water abundance is extremely uneven due to the
influence of structure.
⑤ Distribution of water-bearing formations and hydrogeological features
The area is a mixed low mountain steep slope and gentle slope terrain in the
structural erosion, with a large cutting depth, and the mountain is composed of
volcanic rock and intrusive rock.
In the survey area, the bedrock fissure water mainly occurs in joint fissures of
volcanic rocks and intrusive rocks, fault fracture zones, vein rock belts and their
contact zones with granite, mostly showing banded distribution. The main intervals
with abundant water are located at the hanging wall of the fracture belt, the
intersection between two groups of faults, and the places where the multi-phase
secondary vein rocks are active, especially where there is intrusion of the vein rock
of the late geological time. Their water abundance mainly depends on the fragmentation degree of fracture or vein rock and the catchment conditions, etc.
A. Fissure water of massive volcanic rock
It is widely distributed in the survey area, including the landfill area. The main
water-bearing rock formations are K1 Â 3, K1 Â 2, J3n and other rhyolitic and
dacite crystal welded tuffs, where phreatic water occurs mostly and confined
groundwater occurs only in some low-lying areas of the cols; its spring flow is
about 0.1 L/s and groundwater runoff modulus is less than 2 L/s km
2 , so the water
flow is insufficient.
