(b) Groundwater quality evaluation
Two groups of groundwater samples (Q1 and Q2) were obtained in the vicinity of
the landfill. Among them, Q2 was taken from the spring 86 m upstream of the
landfill and can be used for observing the background value; Q1 was taken from the
spring 174 m downstream of the landfill and can be used for monitoring the pollution. Table 5.28 shows the water quality monitoring results specific to sample.
The evaluation using the standard index method found no factors beyond the limits
in samples Q1 and Q2. This indicates that the landfill works well with no
groundwater contamination.
