• Diorite (d)
Diorite is a representative of neutral holocrystalline plutonic rocks and a major type
of granite stone. It mainly consists of plagioclase (oligoclase and andesine) and one
or several dark minerals, and contains no or only a small amount of orthoclase that
is generally less than 10% of total feldspar.
(c) Geology
The study area is located at the junction of the two first-order tectonic units: the
Yangtze Platform and the Ganzi Trough. Within the county, it is divided into two
second-order geotectonic units of different nature: Kangding-Yunnand uplift in the
east and Yanyuan-Lijiang depression on the margin of platform in the west. The
boundary is the northern section of the Anning River deep fault (from Tianwan of
Shimian to Yanjin of Suining), the Nanhe fault, and the Lizhuang-Yangpingzi fault
(connected to the Jinhe-Luhe fault in the south). In terms of geological structures,
there are north-south controlled faults, mainly including the Anning River fault, the
Nanhe fault, the Matoushan-Yangpingzi fault (the northern section of Jinhe fault),
and the Ze’ershan-Jinpingshan fault. The secondary faults (north-east, north-west
and east-west) form a complex tectonic zone with the north-south fault belt and the
east-west fault block, which is characterized by differentiated (lift and fall) activities
of fault blocks since the upper Pleistocene.
About 300 m away from the landfill is the Dongzhi fault of the Anning River, an
active strike-slip fault that has been left-lateral from the late upper Pleistocene to the
Holocene.
