25.2.3 Stakeholder Interactions Across Life Cycle Stages
Interactions among the stakeholders across the product life stages were analyzed
in terms of product (material) flows, information flows, and monetary flows.
Figures 25.1, 25.2 and 25.3 show product flows, monetary flows, and information
flows organized regarding the stakeholders and the life cycle stages, respectively.
The refiner is placed at the first row for the sake of visibility.
As shown in Figs. 25.1, 25.2 and 25.3, three types of flows do not correspond
to one another. For instance, the information flows between the manufacturer in
the design stage and the repairer in the use stage have no corresponding monetary
flows. Moreover, the manufacturer delivers spare parts, which are produced in the
manufacturing stage, to the repairer in the use stage, without receiving money from
the manufacturer.
25.3 Model-Based Design of Product-Related Information
Management System
25.3.1 External and Internal Requirements
In order to realize information flows for better resource circulation, new stakeholder
called product-relation information management system that collects, analyzes, and
publishes product-related information, can be introduced to the life cycle of electric
and electrical equipment. The information system can be designed following two
types of requirements.
• External requirements are concerned with the input and output of the information
system that can increase resource circulation, while improving the profitability of
the involved stakeholders.
• Internal requirements are concerned with the logic in the information management
system that successfully computes the expected output with the given input.
The design process to deal with the external and internal requirements is regarded
as the validation and verification process of the information management system,
respectively.
