several other schemes to promote rural destinations, by adjoining developed tourists
places to increase the number of visitors at rural sites, thereby resulting in an improved
image of rural tourism destinations in the country. In short, it can be ascertained that
such types of efforts to promote rural tourism help to attain the overall development
of destinations located in less developed and rural areas.
Jyotisar is a beautiful rural tourism destination located in the Kurukshetra district
in Haryana state in northern India. Visitors can visit the destination and explore places
and sites of the region, such as temples. The beautiful area has been landscaped with
flowering bushes and eucalyptus trees. The town is located in the middle of the state
and it is accessible from all parts of the country. Visitors can hire professional guides
to remove the communication barrier. The guides are able to speak English and can
understand the language of the local people. They can help visitors understand the
culture, history, and religion of the region. They can discover various hotels and
resorts where they can stay and enjoy local food and drinks. The hotel staff is able to

The Ministry of Tourism of India is slowly working to make Jyotisar into a developed tourism centre and promote it as a world-famous rural tourism destination.
Certain provisions are made to provide training to the local artisans and workers.

stay facility in the village. They are also planning to establish a shopping complex
in the village. Local villagers are expert in making colourful carpets (locally calleddari), which they have been practicing from generations. Apart from that, they are
also engaged in traditional poetry, woodcarving, and folk painting. While in Jyotisar,
you can shop for the handicraft work made by the villagers of that region. The most
famous items you can look for in the market include carpets, soft toys, shoes and
pottery.
Jyotisar is also known as a famous religious site, as it is believed that the Lord
Krishna delivered the eternal message of Bhagvad Gita to Arjuna before commencement of the Mahabharata battle here. Residents of this area believe that Lord Krishna
delivered the Bhagvad Gita standing under a banyan tree at this place; millions of
people come here to pay their obeisance to the celestial and eternal Gita. A holy
pool also exists here for centuries, and it can at times be seen during monsoon. The
site has been renovated by the Kurukshetra Development Board. To provide separate
bathing facility for ladies, a covered mango shaped lake was built here. Regular light
and sound shows are run by the Haryana Tourism Department to narrate the events
from Mahabharata. The light and sound show is a newly built tourist attraction here
which highlights some aspects of Geeta Saar through lights and sound. Recently, this
show has been mounted by ITDC as a part of the tourism promotion in Kurukshetra.
Tourists can also make a visit to the small temples, bathing ghats and fine water
bodies in the area. The old Shiva temple is quite popular in the area. The surrounding
area of Jyotisar is also dotted with numerous religious and cultural tourism places in
Kurukshetra and nearby places such as Brahma Sarovar, Birla Temple, Bhadrakali
