evapotranspiration. The hydrological characteristics of the Struga Toru´ nska within
the representative catchment area are largely affected by its geological structure and
extensive agricultural activities. The catchment area is mostly drained, which, given
the local hydrogeological conditions, substantially affects the development of the
river’s hydrological regime. The river relatively quickly responds to the springtime
snow melting and any major precipitation.
The flow rate of water in the Struga Toru´ nska demonstrates a considerable
year-on-year variability, which depends on the pattern of meteorological conditions
(Table 15.2, Figs. 15.7 and 15.8).
