an analysis of the status of the Rogo´ znik I reservoir and a proposition of remedial
measures were done at a request of the Municipality Office. The study included
the preparation of a mathematical model capable of the simulation of impacts of the
damming level, various inflow rates (including extreme) and the reduction of nutrients
load on the retention time and the water quality (nutrients and phytoplankton). The
model was prepared using the AEM3D. It had the horizontal resolution of 10 m,
and 7 water layers of thickness ranging from 0.2 m near the surface to 0.5 m in the
deepest part. The simulated period included one year and a set of scenarios, that
enabled the assessment of impacts of proposed remedial measures. According to
the model outputs, the water mixing was wind-driven, and the largest flow velocity
