The lowest average concentration of nitrate nitrogen is found in the Siemianówka
reservoir, with an average value of 0.20 mg N-NO 3 /L. In most of the analysed reservoirs, average concentration of nitrate nitrogen did not exceed 1.0 mg N-NO 3 /L.
Only in D˛ ebe, Mietków, Pilchowice, Kozłowa Góra, Nysa and Turawa reservoirs
average concentrations of nitrate nitrogen exceed 1.0 mg N-NO 3 /L (Fig. 7.8).
The highest average concentration of phosphates is found in the Rybnik reservoir,
where this value is 0.247 mg P-PO 4 /L, and the limit value for class II water quality
is ≤0.130 P-PO 4 /L. The main impact in the reservoir catchment is industry and
municipal economy. The lowest average concentration of phosphates is found in the
Włocławek reservoir—0.03 mg P-PO 4 /L, and it is comparable with values recorded
for the Solina reservoir—0.05 mg P-PO 4 /L. In most of the analysed reservoirs average
phosphate concentrations do not exceed the limit value for class I quality ≤0.065 mg
P-PO 4 /L. Reservoirs with average concentrations reflecting class II water quality
for dam reservoirs include D˛ ebe, Sulejów, Jeziorsko, Mietków, and Nysa. Exceeded
limit value for class II water quality was found only in the Rybnik reservoir 0.247 mg
P-PO 4 /L and the Pilchowice reservoir 0.197 mg P-PO 4 /L (Fig. 7.9).
Phytoplankton and chlorophyl (a) well reflect impacts causing oversupply of
nutrients in water in the whole reservoir catchment (caused e.g., by a high share
of agricultural lands, high population density in the catchment, etc.). The values
of phytoplankton index IFPL vary in the analysed reservoirs. The highest index is
found in Solina—0.950, the lowest in Siemianówka—0.179 (Fig. 7.10). According
to the classification of water quality [41], the limit value for class I quality is ≥0.8.
The following reservoirs were classified as class I quality: Klimkówka, Czorsztyn,
Ro˙ znów, Solina, Besko, Goczałkowice. Quality class II reservoirs (0.6–0.8) include
