attributed to more weightage of the stakeholders towards cultural services of mangroves in the eastern Indian Sundarbans.
People of Sundarban, both Hindus and Muslims, have a strong faith on the
folk cult of Bonobibi (queen of the forest), the guardian deity of the forest and
Dakshin Rai, the God of the tiger. Sundarban islanders perceive Bonobibi as the
