Museum] consisting of an Interpretation Centre, an interpretive trail with an onsite
museum, a botanical park, rock art sites and the entire biosphere reserve.

Secondly, at a national level, the Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria
(INTA) [National Agricultural Technology Institute] is a state-run decentralised
agency with both operating and financial autonomy that depends on the National
Agro-industry Secretariat. It regards innovation as the driver of national development, focusing on capacities for the agro-industrial sector and creating networks to
promote interagency co-operation. In turn, it generates knowledge and technologies
made available to different sectors of society through its outreach, information and
communication systems.

Moreover, the Mercado Nacional de Artesanías (MATRA), a handicrafts programme of the National Secretariat of Culture, was created in 1985. It focuses on
handcrafted quality, fair trade and price, visibility of Argentine artisans’ work and
sector strengthening in the creative economy. In turn, it is the committee of the World
Crafts Council’s Recognition of Excellence in Handicrafts for the Southern Cone and
focal point of the Ibero-American Handcrafts Programme.

Thirdly, on a global basis, the Co-operative is supported by the Centro de Textiles
Tradicionales de Cusco (CTTC) [Cusco Traditional Textiles Centre], a non-profit
organisation that promotes weavers’ empowerment through revitalisation and sustainable practice of ancient textiles from the Cusco region. Its mission is to help
weavers preserve both weavers’ identity and textile traditions, while improving their
quality of life through education and promotion of their textile art.

The Co-operative handicrafts are also present at the International Folk Art Market
(IFAM), a traditional handicraft fair and programme operating since 2004 in Santa
Fe city, New Mexico, USA. It is the world’s largest market of its kind, supported
by non-profit empowering international folk artists. The mission of the IFAM is to
create economic opportunities for and with folk artists worldwide who celebrate and
preserve folk art traditions.
