the polar coordinates). Radon and inverse Radon transforms are the mathematical
basis of tomography [14–16]. In Fig. 3.3 is shown the mathematical procedure of
tomography. Projection by the Radon transform gives the projected value distribution
(e.g., electron transmittance distribution) on all the lines crossing the any point chosen
at will in the two-dimensional body. The inverse Radon transform on the other hand
back project the value distribution to the real space.
Intensities of the transmitted electron are expressed by the Lambert–Beer law as
in Eq. (3.1).
