material layers. We also suggest that the field should be expanded towards alignment
by external electric and magnetic fields. While this area is well developed for low
molecular weight LCs, much more could be done with conjugated polymers as
already demonstrated for conjugated polymers in photovoltaic devices (Chen et al.
2014; Zhao et al. 2011).
