2 High-Efficient Anaerobic Fermentation Technology of Organic …
2.5.2 Small and Vertical Dry Fermentation Equipment
In view of decentralised organic wastes in villages and towns, small and vertical dry
fermentation equipment with the capacity of 500 L was developed. This equipment
comprised a tank, a feed inlet, an outlet, a temperature controller, thermal insulation
layers, an electric heat tracing and biogas pipes. The fermentation temperature is 35
± 1 °C and feed amount is controlled in the range of 25–30%, which could realise
high-efficient dry anaerobic fermentation of organic wastes. This equipment shows
the characteristics, such as occupying a small area, low operation cost and simple
operation, so it suits for energy regeneration from organic wastes, like excrements of
livestock and poultry, kitchen wastes and surplus sludge in small and decentralised
breeding plants in villages and towns.
2.5.3 Horizontal Energy-Saving Dry Fermentation
Equipment
As for agricultural organic wastes, such as excrements of livestock and poultry and
straws, a small, horizontal and energy-saving fermentation equipment with the total
volume of 6 m
3 and effective volume of 4 m
3 was developed (Fig. 2.33). The feed
amount is controlled between 25 and 30% and the fermentation temperature is 35 ±
2 °C. Due to the advantages, such as occupying small areas, low energy consumption
in operation and less secondary pollution, it is suitable for energy utilization of
organic wastes in villages and towns.
