5.6 Application Case of Comprehensive Utilization
of Producing Biogas via Anaerobic Fermentation
and Making Fertilizers Through Aerobic Fermentation
of Agricultural Wastes
This demonstration projects is located in Shangbo village, Yifengdian county, Jimo
city, Shandong province, China. This village possesses rich agricultural biomass
resources and has 400 peasant households and large-scale farmlands and breeding
plants nearby. Raw materials, such as cow dung and silage straws are sufficient and
biogas slag and slurry can be digested. There are two CSTR with the capacity of
800 m
3 for anaerobic fermentation in the station. After separating solid and liquid fermentation residues, biogas slurry flows into the collecting pool and is used
as liquid fertilizer, while biogas slag mixed with cow dung and straw in a mingled
storehouse is pumped into the integrated fertilizer-producing system through aerobic
fermentation with stirred biogas residues through a plunger pump (Fig. 5.6). After
high-temperature fermentation for 20 days, in comparison with traditional composting, composting period shortened 15% and the content of organic matter reached
32%. Moreover, the GI was up to 90% and electrical conductivity was 2.15 ms/cm.
This met the standard for safety utilization of organic fertilizers and can realize highvalue utilization of biogas slag and slurry. This system runs smoothly and it feeds
and discharges materials continuously and stably. With easily adjusted parameters,
like temperature, water content and pH value, the system can realize full-automatic
control.
