Chapter 5
Engineering Application Cases
Abstract Resource processing technology and finished products of organic waste
such as kitchen waste, agricultural waste, livestock and poultry manure are widely
used in many parts of China. For example, humic acid products obtained by aerobic
composting of kitchen wastes are applied to improving soils, a batch of high-quality
agricultural products outside is developed. In Henan, Shandong and other provinces,
biogas and liquid fertilizer are produced from livestock and poultry waste. They met
the standard for safety utilization of organic fertilizers and can realize high value
utilization of biogas slag and slurry.
5.1 Application Case of High-Efficient Oriented
Humification Technology of Kitchen Wastes
Gaoantun treatment plant for kitchen wastes in Beijing (Fig. 5.1), located in circular economy industrial park in Chaoyang district, Beijing, is one of the earliest
resourceful treatment plant for kitchen wastes in China. Moreover, it was a treatment project of kitchen wastes with the largest operation scale, the highest degree
of automation and the most advanced biochemical process in China. The project
integrates eight process systems, such as pre-treatment, biochemical treatment, deep
treatment of products, and central instrument control. The whole set of systems
shows advanced technologies and strict environmental protection measures and the
equipment is highly automatic. The daily treatment capacity is 400 tons and 1.32 ×
10
5 tons of kitchen wastes are consumed annually. Moreover, 8 × 10
4 tons of biological humus acids are produced in each year and annual direct emission reduction
of carbon dioxide reaches 1.5 × 10
5 tons. Agricultural carbon dioxide emissions
are reduced by 9.1 × 10
5 tons due to reduction of coal consumption and chemical
fertilizers.
Humic acid products obtained by aerobic composting of kitchen wastes are applied
to improving soils, so that a batch of high-quality agricultural products bases is
developed. For example, in view of problem of successive cropping obstacles of
strawberry production with protected culture in Changping, Beijing, humic acid
products produced by Gaoantun treatment plant of kitchen wastes in Beijing had
