Chitosan, a derivative of chitin found in the exoskeleton of crustaceans, has emerged as a
promising candidate due to its biocompatibility, antimicrobial properties, and ability to
accelerate tissue regeneration. Chitosan-based products have been extensively studied for their
applications in wound healing, showing promising results in various preclinical and clinical
studies. (HASAN et al., 2022) (KORDESTANI, 2019) (ŞENEL and MC-CLURE, 2004).
