(soft tissue and shell) × 100, provides information about the
physiological condition and the growth of mussel (Andral
et al., 2004); therefore, it is considered an indicator for mussel
health (Bajt et al. 2019).
Gonad somatic index
The gonad somatic index (GSI) represents the rapport among
the wet weight of gonad and the whole soft tissue × 100. This
index allows us to follow the temporal production of gamete
and locate the spawning period of mussels.
Statistical analysis
In the objective to examine if mussel organs (gill, digestive
gland, rest of soft tissues, and gonad) had a similar or a different metal level during the same season at each sampling
site, a multi organs comparison of data was conducted using
