7 Potential Mitigation Measures of Climate Change
Impacts on Pollinators
Many studies in the recent years have addressed the adverse impact of climate change
on crop pollination ecosystem services, especially the pollination process. However, little progress has been made in identifying and testing mitigation measures
for maintaining the native pollinator communities, protecting against declines and
enhancing their role in pollinating crops. Risk mitigation usually focused on honey
bees, while efforts for non-managed bees were negligible. Actions that maintain
or restore the diversity of pollinators are therefore critically important. One of the
most important measures to be taken into consideration to reduce the impact of climate change on pollinators is to follow the strategy of ecological intensification,
