4 Economic Prospects of Forest Resources of Jharkhand
The role of the forestry sector to national economies is one aspect of sustainable
forest management and information about this is needed to monitor progress in this
respect (FAO 2011). Timber, lac and medicinal plants based industries are the main
forest-based industries of the state. S. robusta, Gmelina arborea Roxb. ex Sm., M.
