11.5 Summary
The blast performance of ultra-high performance cementitious composites filled steel
tube (UHPCC-FST) columns subjected to close-range explosion were investigated
experimentally and numerically in the present study. The main works and conclusions
can be drawn as follows:
(1) The field test of four circular UHPCC-FST column specimens subjected to
the close-in TNT charge explosion with the scaled standoff distance of 0.12 ≤
Z≤0.14 m/kg
1/3 were conducted, and the superiority of UHPCC-FST column
against the near field explosion is validated. It shows that both the global and
local deformations are induced by the close-range explosions, and the above
deformations are becoming more serious with reducing the scaled standoff
distance.
