7 Flight Mystery and Aerodynamic Principles

Fig. 7.154 F22 (trapezoidal wing layout)
claims that Raptor combines stealth performance, agility, precision, and situational awareness to create air-to-air and air-to-ground combat capabilities,
making it the world’s best performing fighter.
The F22 adopts a twin-vertical tail, twin-engine, single-seat layout, with
a vertical tail that slopes out 27 degrees, just at the edge of a general stealth
design. The air inlets on both sides are mounted below the extended surface of
the leading edge of the wing (strake wing). Like the nozzles, a stealth design
that suppresses infrared radiation is adopted. The main wing and the horizontal stabilizer have the same sweepback angle and the trailing edge sweep
forward angle, a trapezoidal plane with a small aspect ratio. The blister-type
cockpit cover protrudes from the upper part of the front fuselage, and all
the weapons are concealed in four internal bomb bays. The future supersonic
aircraft given by NASA in the United States is shown in Figs. 7.155, 7.156
and 7.157.
7.15 Drag Reduction Technology for Large
Transport Aircraft
1. Drag of the aircraft
When the airflow passes around the aircraft, the drag of the aircraft is defined
as the component of the resultant force of the positive pressure and friction
