7.5 Wing Shape and Aerodynamic Coefficient
1. Wing shape
The shape of the aircraft wing is varied, ranging from straight to triangular, swept to forward (as shown in Fig. 7.37). However, no matter what
shape is used, the designer must make the aircraft have a good aerodynamic
shape and make the structural weight as light as possible. The so-called good
aerodynamic shape means that the wing has large lift, low drag, and good
maneuverability. For low-speed wing, in order to reduce the induced drag, a
straight wing with a large aspect ratio is often adopted. For transport aircraft,
most of them use upper wing (easy to load). For high subsonic airliner, in
