13.2.2 The Distribution of Stream Flows on the Channels
In the Natural Park of the Braila Small Wetland, upstream, we meet a number of
islands such as the Varsatura Island, with a length of 5.5 km and a maximum width
of 4 km, has a surface of approx. 1200 ha, being delimited by the Danube branches
(km 236 to 228) and Manusoaia; The small island of Braila, formed by the merging of
the former islands of Constantin (Iapa) and Popa, has a length of 33 km, a maximum
width of 8.5 km and the surface of approx. 9800 ha, bounded to the east by the
Valciu branch and to the west by the Manusoaia, Cremenea and Danube branches.
The Cracanel Island (Caras-Chiciu) has a length of 8 km, a maximum width of 2 km
and an area of approximately 1130 ha, being bordered by the Danube branches (km

a maximum width of 1 km and an area of 360 ha, is located between the Danube
branches (km 215 + 500 to 210) and Orbu. The Island of Lupul (Calia or Caleia)
