11 Monitoring and Management of Water in the Siret River …

Groundwater
In the Siret River Basin have been identified eight groundwater bodies:
• phreatic: ROGWSI01, ROGWSI02, ROGWSI03, ROGWSI04, ROGWSI05 ¸
si
ROGWSI06;
• deepwater hydrogeological drillings, managed by the Siret Water Basin Administration, were assigned to two groundwater bodies:
– Those from the northern and central part (Suceava, Neamt and Bacau counties)
to GWPR05;
– Those in the south (Vrancea and Buzau counties) at GWAG12.
The Siret Basin Water Administration is monitoring a number of 473 groundwater drillings. The information from these drillings can be taken manually by the
hydrometer and/or automatically by certain sensors that transmit the water level and
temperature. The data is automatically taken from the sensors only from 39 drillings
(this data is doubled by the data transmitted by the hydrometer) [29, 36].
A hydrogeological bulletin is edited monthly, comprising 39 drilling stations with
two level readings per drilling. Only the hydrological stations Piatra Neamt and Vatra
Dornei follow 3 hydrogeological springs.
The monitored groundwater drilling stations are the following:
• The Hydrological Station Bacau: 75 manually monitored drilling stations, of which
4 are also tracked by automatic stations;
• The Hydrological Station Onesti: 20 manually controlled drilling stations, of which
4 are also tracked by automatic stations;
• The Hydrological Station Focsani: 129 manually monitored drilling stations, of
which 14 are also tracked by automatic stations;
• The Hydrological Station Piatra Neamt: 119 manually monitored drilling stations,
of which 10 are also tracked by automatic stations;
• The Hydrological Station Stulpicani monitors only 2 manually groundwater
drilling stations;
• The Hydrological Station of Suceava: 118 manually monitored drilling stations,
of which 7 are also tracked by automatic stations;
• The Hydrological Station Vatra Dornei manages only 10 manually drilling stations.
The total number of hydrogeological drilling stations monitored from a qualitative
point of view on water bodies is:
• ROGWSI01—2 (Botos-Ciocanesti F1 and Carlibaba 2 Spring);
• ROGWSI02—9;
• ROGWSI03—382;
• ROGWSI04—2 springs (Damuc and Trei Fantani Springs);
• ROGWSI05—115;
• ROGWSI06—4.
