with two generators, having a production capacity of 5 kg ClO 2 /h each. The preoxidation process can be operated and monitored by the SCADA system.
Water recovery from filter backwashing and thickening of sludge
The water resulting from the backwashing of the filters will be collected in a radial
clarifier provided with a scraper bridge. The settled water will be collected and
pumped, through a new pumping station, back into the treatment chain, before the
microstraining station.
The sludge from the existing clarifiers and recovered from the radial settler of the
filter backwashing water will be gravitationally collected in a storage and thickening
tank, equipped with a scraper bridge and a weir for discharging the supernatant. The
supernatant, from both gravitational thickening and mechanical dewatering, will be
transported to a supernatant pumping station, from where it will be pumped upstream
of the microstraining station.
Sludge dewatering
The sludge resulted from the mechanical thickening tank will be collected in a storage
and homogenization buffer, from where it will be transferred to a sludge dewatering equipment—a press filter. The minimum dry matter content of mechanically
dehydrated sludge shall be at least 35%.
Laboratory and laboratory equipment
A new laboratory building will be developed for the new operating conditions of
the treatment plant. The building will have three levels and will include a chemistry
laboratory and a microbiology laboratory.
Building a pilot treatment station
At certain times the aluminum concentration in the raw water entering the treatment
plant increases significantly, sometimes above the accepted limit. In order to find
an efficient solution for the removal of all pollutants, including aluminium, special
treatability studies are required, which must be carried out for at least one year,
in order to analyze the studied parameters in all characteristic periods that could
influence the quality of the water. For this purpose, a pilot station is proposed with
a flow rate of 1 m
3 /h.
Flow monitoring at the outlet of the WTP
In order to facilitate production balances and calculate the technological water consumption, the installing of flow meters at the outlet of the treatment plant is proposed,
on both supply pipes. The flowmeters shall be ultrasonic, with an accuracy of ±1% of
the flow and shall be located where access can be made easily, at a distance of approximately 1 km downstream of the WTP. The flowmeters will be mounted according
to the manufacturer’s specifications and integrated into the SCADA system.
