6.6 Steps to the Future
For the further development of the water sector in the Cluj-S˘ alaj region, long-term
investment programs have been promoted, in order to provide the population with
adequate water and wastewater services, at the required quality and at affordable
rates.
The Operational Program for Large Infrastructure (POIM) was elaborated to meet
Romania’s needs for development identified in the 2014–2020 Partnership Agreement and in full compliance with the Common Strategic Framework and the Position Document of the European Commission’s services. Within the list of predefined
projects to be financed by POIM (Priority Axis 3, Specific Objective 3.2) we found
