toilet stands on a platform than the pre-determined quantity of water automatically
get loaded in the temporary water reservoir, and when the person leaves after use,
the collected water in the reservoir automatically get dispense into urinal–toilet, i.e.
flushes specified quantity of water in urinal–toilet. It has its unique novel features
which result in Assured, Regular and Compulsory flushing and cleaning of facility
without any hand contact, i.e. Hands-free flushing (Wath 2016).
Salient Features of the ‘NEERFLUSH’ are:
• Needs ‘NO’ electronic/electrical operation/components.
• Hands free, i.e. without hand contact and un-intentional, i.e. automatic and
effortless flushing.
• Uses minimum requisite quantity of water per flush, thus ensures lesser water
requirement.

Problem Being Addressed
• Automatic-regular-compulsory and un-intentional flushing (right amount of
water) which leads to enhancement in upkeep and maintaining cleanliness in the
sanitation facility, as well as helps in water conservation, as flushing urinals–toilets
consume 28–40% of the total water used in houses as per WHO.
• Hands-free flushing operation reduces the chances of germs contamination and
associated communicable diseases.
